Stops responding to Bluetooth playback buttons after 2min paused
Description
Since update of VLC 3 days ago from Play Store, it's impossible to use my Bluetooth earbuds' controls to resume playback of a paused audio playlist (local MP3 files) except when the playback was paused a very short time (between 1-2 minutes) beforehand. Playback can then only be resumed via the widget or the app itself. This is true whether the device screen is locked or not, and when the app is in foreground unless the playback control is onscreen in the UI (i.e. either in Now Playing or when visible as a footer-bar while elsewhere in the VLC UI).
At least three Play Store reviewers (not including myself) since the update have mentioned this issue.
Expected behavior
Pressing Play/Pause button on earbud resumes playback.
Actual behavior
Button has no effect, playback remains paused.
Steps to reproduce
- Start playing a music playlist to Bluetooth device
- Pause playback (in app or by BT device button)
- Wait 2 minutes
- Attempt to resume playback using BT device button
