vlc won't play url via share while vlc is playing local files

Expected behavior

vlc will play

Actual behavior

vlc won't play
but no issue if share a local file instead of a URL to vlc.

Steps to reproduce

1. play anything local
2. use browser to share a url to vlc
3. vlc is brought up but still plays the local file where it left.
