m3u playlist not working
Hi. Not sure if this is a bug, or just a situation never intended. I have VLC on an Android (11) tablet (tab s6 lite) and wish to use it to play my MP3 music collection. I have a directory (on the SD card) called music which contains all the m3u playlist files. Also in this same directory are several sub-directories, each for a category of music (this is how I like to organize my music). In each of the category-sub-directories, are sub-directories for each artist, and those directories contain the MP3s. So, the MP3s are two sub-directories below the m3u files. This works just fine with winamp (I have no reason not to continue to use it, it does what I want) on a windows (7) PC. Winamp is how the m3u files were created in the first place (with the directory structure existing as described). But most android MP3 players, including VLC, while they can "see the" m3u files (appear when "playlists" is clicked on), indicate they have 0 (zero) entries in them, and (of course) don't play anything. I ASSUME that VLC (and most other players) don't look 2 levels down into the sub-directory tree to find the MP3 files. Possibly this can be considered a bug, or possibly is is more appropriately a feature request. Thanks. Blessing. David.
