Since VLC Android version 3.4.0 < 3.4.2 the VLC android app has no sound when playing a media file.

Description

Since VLC Android version 3.4.0 < 3.4.2 the VLC android app has no sound when playing a media file. Audio works fine for other media apps. Audio works fine on VLC Android version < 3.3.4.

Expected behavior

Play music and video as per usual

Actual behavior

VLC Android plays video file without sound. VLC Android plays audio file without sound.

Steps to reproduce

1. Install VLC Android 3.4.0 < 3.4.2 from FDroid as per usual.
2. Select and play media file.

Context

Attempting to play media file with VLC Android version 3.4.0 < 3.4.2 on LineageOS 18.1 (Android 11) on a Samsung GT-19505 updated regularly.
