Google Chromecast VLC doesn't automatically detect external storage connected to WebOS TV

Hi there,

I have this issue: VLC running on Google Chromecast won't automatically detect the attached USB SSD storage (exFAT) connected to my LG OLEDG1 (running WebOS).

The storage is detected via WebOS. I wouldn't go to the lenght of adding the Chromecast + VLC overhead, if not for the LG issue like its internal apps do not support HD audio like DTS-HD.

Question: As I'm trying to make use of the Chromecast already purchased, and not to buy a Raspberry Pi, could I make the Chromecast VLC detect my external USB storage? Is it even possible?
