VLC does not play the media file I select from the .m3u playlist search results

VLC Android does not play the media file I select from the .m3u playlist search results (after using specific criteria using the "media search" function). This is a bug in the search media functionality.

Description

I am watching IPTV using VLC Android. Whenever I select a media file from .m3u playlist search results after typing the criteria using the "search media" function on top right, VLC plays the incorrect media file (not the one I selected). I have tested this on two different Android devices, using latest version of VLC and in both cases I can confirm this bug is present. NOTE: when you don't type anything in the search media function, but instead just select a random media from the list in search media, then it does play the correct media play.

Expected behavior

VLC plays the media file I select from the search media results (after entering specific search criteria)

Actual behavior

VLC plays a random media file from the playlist.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Open random media from .m3u video playlist
  2. Touch the screen and select the top right icon to search media
  3. Now you should see the full playlist and you can search the playlist
  4. Use a random search criteria (the file must exist)
  5. Select the video from the list after using the criteria
  6. You will notice that VLC plays the wrong media file
