Not detecting DLNA server on LAN

VLC for android used to see and list the dlna server (minidlna) I have on a linux pc at home and play movies from there without problems. Since I installed latest update from f-droid, it no longer can see and list the server. Another media player I just tried (nova video) does see and list the server and play the movies without problems.
