Folders from network storage mounted by nvidia shield tv can't be added to media library

I want to use VLC as my player on my nvidia shield tv for my music located on a local NAS but something disallow me to use network storage mounted by shield software.

Description

Shield tv software allows to mount network storages like any external storage in /storage/{$STORAGE_NAME}. This is pretty handy because any apps without special network support can still use them like any local file.

Sadly this storage doesn't show up inside media library folders settings like others external storage mounted. When tricked using the navigation breadcrumb (from detected /storage/my_usb_stick I moved to /storage and got access to all mounted storages) I can select folders from the network storage but this does nothing and they are deselected when I navigate away. I can't add it with a custom path because the option is not available in the tv interface.

Expected behavior

My mounted network storage is visible in root screen of media library folders settings, and I can select/deselect any folder within it like any other mounted storage.

Actual behavior

My mounted network storage doesn't show up in root screen of media library folders settings and when manually navigated to it selecting folders doesn't work.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Mount a network storage on a nvidia shield tv
  2. Open VLC, navigate to Settings > Media library - Media library folders
