When app is exited and relaunched, a full library scan is performed again

Sony Xperia Z3 Compact — Sony's Android 6.0.1

I use VLC as a music player on Android with a large audio library (~100G).

How to reproduce If launched, exit VLC app. Then click on the "Play" icon of the VLC home screen widget.

Expected result Music starts playing instantaneously.

Actual result Music starts playing after ~20s.

Notes VLC is re-scanning the whole library every time (as seen on the bottom bar of the app) hence the 20s delay.
