keyboard shortcuts for subtitle offset work wrong way

I'm attempting to use keyboard shortcuts "G" and "H" for adjusting subtitles offset, in Vlc player for Android, the latest version from Google Play (not beta, that is is usable for me at all).

The shortcuts work, but just once - they do not respond to repeated press of G or H on keyboard. The increase/decreased delay is shown on screen, but when I press G or H again, it stays the same. I have to click somewhere in video to make the displayed delay number dismiss, then I can increase/decrease it again by pressing H or H, but again just once.
