Cannot play network file more than once
I have an Amazon Fire TV game console, which is connecting via WiFi to my wireless router. VLC can be told to look to the SMB share for my Buffalo NAS which I save all my media files. So I select the machine, select the folder where the video is, then select the video file. The file will play okay but when the file ends or if I quit the file before it's finished, the Fire TV console will never play that media again. I guess it thinks every video is "A once in a lifetime, chance..."
Either it flashes the first frame of video, then comes back to the file window, or shows a spinning black and white road cone then possibly coming back to the file window, or flashing a fast error message about a network problem. Yet VLC running on my Windows 7 computer has no trouble playing the same file.
Even quitting VLC or unplugging the Fire console will not fix the problem; once a file is played it can't ever be played again.
