VLC player forgets USB OTG drive immediately

When I plug in a USB OTG drive, VLC nicely asks to add it to the media library. I say yes, but when I go to Setting > Directories, the OTG drive is unchecked. I check it again, and back out to the previous menu. When I go back to the Directory settings, the OTG drive is uncheckec again. This behavior remains the same no matter how many times I repeat. Because of this, I cannot play music files from the flash drive directly from VLC player.
