VLC 3.3.0 Beta 1 - External media detection dialog not present

On a fresh install of the VLC beta, when selecting "Let VLC scan my device for media content", my external SD card is not selected automatically. The SD is still displayed in the Browse section, and can be selected manually in the Settings

On the stable version of VLC android, after the "auto-discover your media" page, the application is displaying a dialog that asks for the external media indexing (see picture). This dialog is not present on Beta.

Device: Samsung Galaxy S20+, Android 10.
