Sideloading 3.2.3 into Fire TV 4K Stick works but has no home screen icon

A minor issue. I didn't want to install 3.1.4 which is the latest version on the Amazon AppStore so I sideloaded the latest VLC 3.2.2 onto a friend's Fire Stick 4K to show him the new UI. It sideloads fine but there's no home screen icon like there is when you sideload Kodi. I can still open the app from settings > applications > manage installed applications but there's no icon on the home screen, which would be quite useful to my friend. Is this an issue with sideloading VLC or the Fire Stick 4K?

Obviously this issue does not happen when installing VLC from the Amazon Appstore, but the App Store version (3.1.4) is not up to date as 3.1.7 is the version on the Play Store. I don't know if updating apps is harder on the app store, so perhaps fixing the lack of a home screen icon when sideloading is a good workaround for users hungry for the latest version of VLC?
