VLC media player 2.1.0-rc2 'Rincewind' This is the second release candidate of VLC 2.1.0, named 'Rincewind' There have been 6999 commits since the split of 2.0.0 and 2.1.0-git tag and more than 300 commits since. This release will bring: - Ports to Mobile OS, including Android, iOS (again), WinRT - A new audio core, including rewrite of most audio output modules - An introduction of many hardware decoders and encoders, for performance - A preparation for Ultra-HD, notably for future codecs - Numerous new codecs, formats and protocols supported - New video and audio outputs, filters and converters - Important polishing on most interfaces - Important polishing on many format support - A change of most of the libVLC library code license to LGPL - Some important improvements on the webplugins and the bindings This release candidate adds numerous fixes, notably for Ogg and DirectSound modules
