VLC media player 2.1.0 'RinceWind' This is the final version of VLC 2.1.0, named 'Rincewind', first release of the 2.1.0 branch. There have been 6999 commits since the split of 2.0.0 and 2.1.0-git tag and more than 400 commits since. More than 640 bugs have been fixed during the 2.1.0 release cycle, in addition to the 620 bugs fixed on the 2.0.x branch, since 2.0.0. This release will bring, notably: - Ports to Mobile OS, including Android, iOS (again), WinRT - A new audio core, including rewrite of most audio output modules - An introduction of many hardware decoders and encoders, for performance - A preparation for Ultra-HD, notably for future codecs - Numerous new codecs, formats and protocols supported - New video and audio outputs, filters and converters - Important polishing on most interfaces - Important polishing on many format support - A change of most of the libVLC library code license to LGPL - Some important improvements on the webplugins and the bindings And so many other changes!
