ActiveX component freezes or hard crashes while playing
In our legacy VB6 application, we use AxVLC to render audio and video events. We are now experiencing freezes or hard crashes while playing video content. The freezes occur during the beginning of playback and nothing is visually displayed, leaving an unresponsive app and a black screen. In other cases, during playback the app will crash, immediately disappearing from the screen without any typical Windows dialog indicating that the app has crashed and information is being sent to Microsoft i.e. a hard crash.
We believe that this is the ActiveX manifestation of bug #22648 but we have no evidence to support that claim.
