Any research done on .NET MAUI?

This is a question more than a bug or any kind of issue?

I have been interested in developing an app using LibVLC and have just discovered that Microsoft will be releasing a new Framework .NET Multi-platform App UI - MAUI with .NET 6 in Nov 2021 that will be replacing Xamarin going forward.
I would like to ask has any research been done into this new framework and what issues there might be for the LibVLCSharp team?

One issue I can see from reading this article is that instead of multiple projects, Shard, Android and IOS, there will be only a single project.
That mean that no more LibVLC.Anrdoid, LibVLC.IOS etc but a single LibVLC to rule them all.

I might not start developing my app for a year or so, so I just wanted to ask your thoughts on this.
