      libvlc: fix MediaPlayerESSelected events not sent · 4eda9aa0
      Thomas Guillem authored
      This event was sent only when an ES was changed by libvlc. It was not sent when
      an ES was changed by the input thread. To fix this issue, listen to the
      INPUT_EVENT_ES input event (that is sent when an ES is added/deleted/selected)
      to detect an ES selection change.

      We don't want to trigger callbacks for "video-es"/"audio-es"/"spu-es" variables
      from the input_thread since it's also listening to these callbacks and we want
      to avoid a selecting busy loop.

      libvlc: add equalizer API · c180afe5
      Mark Lee authored
      Functions are provided to:

       * query the available equalizer presets
       * create a new default equalizer instance
       * create an equalizer instance from a preset
       * set individual equalizer band amplitudes
       * set equalizer pre-amplification
       * apply an equalizer to a media player

      Equalizer settings can be applied whether media is playing or not,
      and will automatically be retained when playing media subsequently.

      Add new API to libvlc for persistent equalizer settings. · 32596ea8
      Mark Lee authored
      New methods are provided to:

       - get the available equalizer presets;
       - get the available frequency bands (useful for creating a UI);
       - create a new default equalizer, or create a new equalizer from a preset;
       - release a previously created equalizer;
       - get/set preamp and individual frequency amplification values;
       - apply equalizer settings to a media player.

      Equalizer settings are persistent, can be made whether media is currently playing or not, and will automatically be applied to subsequently played media.

      It is possible, that some minor piece of code was badly tracked, for
      some reasons (SVN, mainly) or that some small developers did not answer.
      However, as an "œuvre collective", defined as in "CPI 113-2 alinéa 3",
      and seeing "Cour. Cass. 17 Mai 1978", and seeing that the editor and
      the very vast majority of developers have agreed (> 99.99% of the code,
      > 99% of developers), we are fine here.

      libvlc: Make sure the media_player has its own state cached. · bbce7c4c
      Pierre authored
      A weirdness was introduced somehow. We were relying on the media state. (!)

      Also, make sure that we always require stop() to be called when the media_player is destroyed. This may prevent some unwanted bad usage, whose consequence might be that _release() will block on input thread destruction.

      Add input resource support to the LibVLC Media Player · 1ce2223d
      Niles Bindel authored
      This change allows for smoother transitioning between playlist items by
      not having to recreate the related video/audio resources from scratch on
      every item switch. This problem was very apparent in fullscreen mode
      when the current display would close out showing the OS background and
      then go back to fullscreen before playing the next item.

      misc/objects.c: Don't rely on vlc_object_destroy() to destroy objects, but... · a78e273e
      Pierre d'Herbemont authored
      misc/objects.c: Don't rely on vlc_object_destroy() to destroy objects, but expects vlc_object_release to do it when the refcount goes to zero.
      * Meaning, that when created objects gets a refcount to 1.
      * Destroying is instantaneous and we don't have to poll for a few secondss or so to wait until the object's refcount reach 0.
      * We now track vlc_object_t's mem leaks when libvlc_global is released (Hard error for now, so they don't get unoticed)
      * We fail hard if an object is released with a refcount of 1 without being detached from its parent and its children, to make sure such cases don't go unoticed.
      (make test or make check still pass after that one. VLC is known to leak one object when no module is loaded, this must be fixed).

      p_object->p_libvlc ==> p_object->p_libvlc_globale

      And by the way, there is some cleanup required :) (ie, some things are created in the global object instead of the instance-specific one)
