This hasn't been converted to "vout display".
This is to my knowledge not in use.
This is calling main thread synchronously on every redraw making the overhead too important, and the overall performance of the module very bad.
There is to my knowledge no way to fix this using public API on 10.5, without a complete rewrite.

New "vout display" for macosx. · ecc72fd1
      Pierre authored
It is non blocking regarding Main Thread.
It is compatible with minimal_macosx in term of drawable-nsobject.
It will only work if a drawable-nsobject is provided.

It removes the glitches there was with minimal_macosx (and gui/macosx) when:
      - Displaying the first frames
      - Resizing the view.

      Fix live555media libraries link order · 1d463ae8
      Gilles Chanteperdrix authored

Since at least vlc 1.0.2, compiling vlc with a static version of a
recent version of the live555media library (the version released on
2009/11/12 for instance) results in the following warning while loading
      the liblive555_plugin.so module:

[0x1901090] main libvlc warning: cannot load module `/usr/local/lib/vlc/demux/liblive555_plugin.so' (/usr/local/lib/vlc/demux/liblive555_plugin.so: undefined symbol: _ZTI9HashTable)

This warning is due to an error in the link order of the
live555_plugin, fixed by the following patch.

Remove the XvMC plugin · b25a657d

In 0.9, the output refuses to work and the codec just segfaults.
In 1.0, it is inoperant due to the removal of the forked libmpeg2.
In 1.1, we would anyway need to rewrite it to the new vout API.
